🕉️ Scene: Devendra’s Defeat – The Divine Appeal to Dasharatha

🎶ಸುರಪನ ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ಸುರಸಿಂಹಾಸನ ವೇರಿIಮೆರೆದಿರೆ ಶಂಭರ ಮುದದಿ|| ಮರುಳರುಬ್ಬೇರಿ ದಬ್ಬಾಳಿಕೆ ತೋರಲು | ನರಕವಾಯಿತು ನಾಕ ಕ್ಷಣದಿII

Devendra: Oh Narayana! Oh Parameshwara! Only Shiva must know what boon this wicked Shambarasura has received and what power he wields. We gods couldn’t stop his invasion. He has defeated us and seized the throne of Swarga. In no time, Swarga has turned into a Naraka! What do we do now? How do we reclaim it? Who will help us?

🎶ವೈಧಿಸುತ ಶಕ್ರ ಮಾತಲಿಯನ್ನು ಕರೆದೆಂದ|ಗತಿಯೇನು ಮುಂದಿನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ IIಅತಿ ಬೇಗದಿಂದಲಯೋಧ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಸೇರಿ ನೀ | ಕಥಿಸಿ ನೀ ಕಷ್ಟವನಜ ಸುತಗೆ ||

Devendra: Maatali, go to Ayodhya. There’s no other path before us. This Naaka loka was built through the merit of many sages and beings — and now look at it, shattered by one Asura! Even I, its guardian, stand helpless. Only help from the world of mortals might save us now.

🐎 Maatali's Wisdom

Maatali: Devendra! If we let despair take over in times of crisis, our mind loses all clarity. Just as a skilled charioteer knows how to drive through thorny and rocky paths without accident, we too must act wisely. This Asura's power is fearsome, but from what I’ve observed — only a human can defeat him. This is my deep conviction.

☀️ The Mission to Ayodhya

Devendra: If the charioteer and the king think alike, the goal is reached swiftly. Your thought echoes mine, Maatali. Among mortals today, the one most worthy to help us is King Dasharatha, son of Ajā, the noble emperor of Ayodhya. He is a protector of dharma, famed across the world, and a descendant of the illustrious Suryavamsha.

Devendra: The Ikshvaku lineage has always had ties with the divine. Dasharatha’s personal virtue, valor, and religious discipline equal those of the sages. He is not just noble by birth — he is mighty by character. I’m certain he will come to our aid, defeat this Shambarasura, and restore order. Go at once, Maatali, and tell him of our plight.

Maatali: So be it, O King of the Devas. I shall leave at this very moment and return with Dasharatha. Let auspiciousness be upon us all!
