About Him:
Shripada Bhat is a dedicated Maddale artist from Sirsi Taluk, with over three decades of experience in Yakshagana.
His journey in the art began in 1990–91 under the guidance of Shri Parameshwara Hegde Ainbail, where he received foundational training in the Badagutittu style of Maddale and general Yakshagana rhythm techniques.
With a strong desire to deepen his craft, he continued advanced training under Shri K.P. Hegde at the Kota Hangarakatte Yakshagana Centre. He further refined his skills under the mentorship of the legendary Yaksha Rishi, Shri Manjunatha Bhagavatha of Hostota.
Artistic Values & Community Involvement:
Shripada Bhat is known for his discipline, humility, and wholehearted dedication to Yakshagana. Without seeking fame or financial reward, he actively supports several amateur Yakshagana troupes around Sirsi, making invaluable contributions to the sustainability and spirit of local cultural organizations. His presence in any Yakshagana or Tala-Maddale event is marked by punctuality, integrity, and a sincere passion for the art.
